ACRYLIC POURING TECHNIQUES
WHAT IS ACRYLIC POURING?
Acrylic pouring is a painting technique where acrylic paint is mixed with Derivan Pouring Medium and then poured onto a surface in a variety ways. Colours are poured directly from individual cups, and other times multiple colours are combined into one cup and poured together. Look below for all sorts of techniques that will get you started in your Acrylic Pouring journey.
"CLEAN POUR" TECHNIQUE
Unlike a “Dirty Pour” a clean pour is generally more controlled, resulting in still free flowing paint effects with definded shapes.
"DIRTY POUR" TECHNIQUE
Put simply it is pouring pre-mixed colours in to a cup and then pouring them onto your painting surface in a single puddle. The paints mix as they leave the cup and can create some dynamic marbling effects.
