GHS COMPLIANT SDS UPDATE:

As from December 1st, 2016, Derivan has available the new GSH compliant Safety Data Sheets (SDS) versions for all Derivan and Matisse branded products currently in production.

What is the GHS?

The Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals, or GHS, is a United Nations effort to internationally standardise chemical classification, labelling and safety data sheets (SDS) in the workplace. Australia adopted the GHS under work health and safety laws on 1 January 2012 and after a transition period of five years, the new system for chemical classification has been implemented starting January 1st, 2017. It uses a common set of pictograms, signal words and hazard warnings to universalise classifications.

The introduction of the GHS will (in brief): reduce multiple requirements for labels, allow participating countries to facilitate trade by removing regulatory barriers, improve comprehension and understanding of physical, health and environmental hazards.

What does SDS stand for?

SDS is the standard abbreviation for Safety Data Sheet. These type of documents provides professional users of hazardous substances with information on the safe use and handling of a particular material or product.

Safety Data Sheets includes information such as the physical-chemical, toxicological and ecotoxicological characteristics of the substance that may be relevant to some health or environmental risk associated with normal use as well as storage, disposal, protective equipment and spill handling procedures. At Derivan, we take safety seriously. All of our Safety Data Sheets available for download.

Please click on any product link you wish to preview - the document will open in a separate window where you can review it or download.

Both the new AP and CL Seals of The Art & Creative Materials Institute, Inc. (ACMI) have recently been registered with the U. S. We will be converting the symbol ™ to the symbol ® on products certified by ACMI with the production of new product labels.
