Made in Italy, these sketchbooks come with 24 pages of 240 gsm paper. The paper is acid-free, artist quality watercolour paper, a mix of high-quality cellulose and 20% cotton.

It is sized internally and externally to assure optional absorption of colour and comes with a rough grain surface for use on either side. Great for students and artists, this sketchbook is ideal for wet on wet techniques such as watercolour and acrylic inks.

The range of colours in the Australian landscape set has been chosen to either be used with the primary set to shortcut colour mixing or be used by themselves for most landscape works. The subdued colour wheel of yellow oxide for yellow, burnt sienna for red and cerulean blue hue for blue can be used to achieve most but the brightest flora and fauna. The cerulean blue hue in the set will give a vivid blue sky, and the addition of the Australian sap and leaf greens work perfectly for painting plain air in the Australian landscape.

The range of colours contained in this set has been chosen very specifically. Included are cadmium yellow hue and pyrrole red - these two mid primaries which will mix to the full spectrum of colours when combined with either of the 2 blues, ultramarine blue or phthalo blue. These two biased blues will allow you to mix rich secondary and tertiary hues. Mix the cad yellow hue with phthalo blue to get great green grass, bright popping greens or mix the cad yellow hue and ultra blue for more subdued olive greens and distant bushland.

The pyrrole red and ultra-blue are great for rich purples and violets or mix the pyrrole red and phthalo blue for deep dark cool shadows. Black completes the set.
