Basically, this standard and testing ensures that the level of toxic materials used in the manufacture of these are limited to safe levels in a range of products sold for children including face paints.

Harmful ingredients have long been regulated in paint for children’s products, but these new regulations now require even lower levels and extend to more than just paint and toys. The new EN71-3 standard is in addition to previous cosmetic standards enforced in Australia and internationally for any product used on skin.
