Derivan's Gesso provides an optimal primer for various surfaces like canvas, board, or even paper. Its potent white foundation delivers a significant tooth that allows effortless paint control.
Being a water-based solution, Derivan's Gesso can be mixed with water for thinning if required. It contracts the fabric upon drying on a canvas, creating a taut, ready-to-paint surface.
Derivan's Gesso is also helpful for painting over existing acrylic pieces, offering artists a rejuvenated surface for their creations. For those wishing to apply several coats, it's best to sand lightly between each to achieve a finely finished texture.
