IMPASTO APPLICATION MEDIUM
This medium is a robust, pigment-free paint, distinct from a gel. It shines in oil painting brush strokes and impasto applications, especially when substantial layers of colour are needed.
Drying to a muted, low-gloss finish, Impasto Application Medium mimics the sheen on a dried film of acrylic colour and shares its water resistance. This medium welcomes uninhibited mixing with Derivan colours, regardless of the quantity. When Impasto Application Medium and Derivan colours are mixed in equal parts, there is negligible observable colour loss. While not entirely transparent when dry, Impasto Application Medium does not appear to modify the vibrancy of Derivan colours. It is also suitable for use as a light modelling compound.
USAGE
Impasto Application Medium can be generously applied with a knife or brush onto the original primed canvas, and once dried, and it can be entirely over-painted with Derivan colours.
