UNICORN FACE PAINT DESIGN
This medium is a dense, colour-free paint that differs from a gel. It's highly valuable for executing oil painting brush stroke and impasto techniques, particularly when a significant build-up of colour is desired.
The Impasto Technique Medium dries to a low-gloss finish that is similar to the sheen on a dried acrylic colour film. It exhibits comparable water-resistance. The Impasto Technique Medium allows for unrestricted mixing with Derivan colours in any ratio. When equal parts of a Derivan colour and Impasto Technique Medium are mixed together, there is minimal perceptible colour loss. Even though Impasto Technique Medium isn't completely transparent when dry, it doesn't seem to affect the richness of Derivan colours. This medium is also fitting for use as a light modelling compound.
HOW TO USE
This medium can be thickly applied with a knife or brush directly onto the original primed canvas and, once dry, can be completely painted over with Derivan colours.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Impasto Technique Medium should not be used as a transparent adhesive or size due to its slightly milky opacity, which may cause discolouration. However, it makes an excellent high-quality, acid-free adhesive or size when transparency isn't required.
